OTDR

OTDR (Optical Time Domain Reflectometer) is a device used to test fiber optic links by sending short pulses of optical signals and monitoring the echoes of the signals to measure parameters such as the length of the fiber, loss, quality of the connection, and localized damages. The OTDR detects loss and reflection points in the fiber and graphically displays on the tested fiber various events such as connections, bifurcations, bends, breaks, etc.
