OM3 Multimode Cables

OM3 is another type of multimode fiber, which stands for “Optical Multimode 3”. Similar to OM2, OM3 fiber is used for data transmission over short distances, but it offers higher bandwidth and longer transmission distances.

OM3 multimode fiber optic cable also has a core diameter of 50 microns, but it offers an increase in transmission rate and distance over OM2. OM3 fiber optic cable is typically designed to support higher speed data transmission, such as 10 Gigabit Ethernet and above. This type of fiber optic cable is commonly used in data centers, enterprise networks, and other locations where high-speed data transmission is required.

Additionally, OM3 fiber is compatible with previous OM2 and OM1 fiber optic equipment, so when updating an existing network, OM3 fiber optic cables can be made compatible with existing equipment.
