Gigabit Media Converters

Gigabit Media Converters are network devices that are used to convert signals between different types of network media at gigabit (Gigabit) rates. They are typically used to convert Ethernet signals from one transmission medium to another, such as converting copper signals to fiber-optic signals, or fiber-optic signals to copper signals, while maintaining a data transfer rate of one gigabit per second.

These media converters typically include one or more Gigabit Ethernet ports, an RJ45 connector for copper and an optical connector (e.g. SFP or SFP+ slot) for fiber. They reliably transfer data from one medium to another to meet the interconnection needs of different network devices.

Gigabit Media Converters are typically used in network environments that require high-speed data transfer and long distance transmission, such as data centers, enterprise networks, wide area networks (WAN) and metropolitan area networks (MAN). They provide a flexible and reliable solution that enables different types of network devices to interconnect and realize high-speed data transfer between different network media.
