Fiber Polishing Pads
Fiber Polishing Pads are key materials used to provide friction and grinding action during the fiber polishing process. They typically cover the working surface of a polishing disc or polisher and come into contact with the end face of a fiber optic connector to help achieve a flat and polished end face.
Fiber optic polishing pads typically consist of a variety of materials, including a base material and abrasive particles. The substrate is usually a soft and durable material such as foam adhesive, rubber or polyurethane to ensure that the connector endface is properly supported and protected during the polishing process. The abrasive particles, on the other hand, are the key components used to achieve the abrasive and grinding action, and are usually microscopically fine abrasive particles such as aluminum oxide, silicon carbide, and so on.
