OTDR Fiber Launch Box
OTDR (Optical Time Domain Reflectometer) Fiber Launch Box is one of the devices used for fiber optic network testing. It is often used as an accessory for OTDR testing.
An OTDR is an instrument used to measure the quality of a fiber optic connection. It determines the signal loss in the fiber, the location of the connection, and possible points of failure by sending pulses of light signals into the fiber, then monitoring the reflection of the signals and measuring their intensity versus time.
When testing optical fibers, the first short distance to start the test is compromised due to the reflection and refraction of the signal, which can affect the accuracy of the test results. To solve this problem, the Fiber Launch Box can be used. it is a fiber optic box that contains a length of fiber inside and is used to provide a stable initial light signal that insulates the beginning of the test from initial reflections, thus improving the accuracy of the test.
