10G BiDi SFP+

10G BiDi SFP+ is a special type of SFP+ optical module for network connectivity at 10Gbps data rate.BiDi stands for Bi-Directional, indicating that this module is capable of bi-directional data transmission over a single fiber.

Traditional fiber-optic communication requires two fibers for bi-directional communication, one for sending data and the other for receiving data. BiDi technology, on the other hand, takes advantage of the characteristics of optical multiplexing devices (WDM) to achieve bi-directional communication over different wavelengths on the same fiber. As a result, the 10G BiDi SFP+ module requires only one fiber to transmit data, thus saving fiber resources and costs.

10G BiDi SFP+ modules typically use LC connectors, similar to regular SFP+ modules, but they use special optics internally to enable bi-directional communication. They can support a variety of different transmission distances, such as 10km, 20km, 40km, etc., to meet different application requirements.
