High Power Fiber Amplifiers

High Power Fiber Amplifiers (HPFAs) are fiber optic amplifiers that are used to boost an incoming optical signal to a higher power level. These amplifiers are typically used in applications that require high power output, such as laser driving, long distance transmission in optical communication systems, and laser processing.

High-power fiber amplifiers typically use erbium-doped fibers as the amplification medium, using the excitation and radiation processes of erbium ions to amplify the optical signal. By injecting the optical signal into the erbium-doped fiber and being excited, the erbium ions will radiate more photons, thus amplifying the original optical signal. High power fiber optic amplifiers usually include parts such as power devices, control circuits and optical components.
