Electrode Replacement and Calibration

1. Electrode Replacement

1. Ensure that the fusion splicer is turned off. Remove the electrode chamber cover, loosen the screws securing the electrodes, and take out the electrodes. Then, loosen the top wire of the electrode and remove it.
2. Install the new electrodes by following the removal steps in reverse order. Ensure that the gap between the electrode tips is 2.6 ± 0.2mm.
3. During installation, do not touch the electrode tips to prevent damage. Avoid dropping the electrodes into the internal components of the machine, which may cause damage. After replacing the electrodes, perform arc calibration.

2. Arc Calibration

1. After installing the electrodes, turn on the fusion splicer.
2. When the splicer enters the initial interface, press the menu button to enter the advanced menu.
3. Move the optical marker to the splicer maintenance section, select the electrode cleaning option, and confirm. The machine will automatically clean and age the electrodes.
4. After preparing the left and right optical fibers, move the optical marker to the arc calibration section. Use the operation keys to adjust the fiber ends so that both electrode tips maintain a precise alignment. The machine will then perform discharge testing, and adjustments can be made based on the actual results.
5. Finally, press the confirm button to exit step by step.
