By heating, fusing, and stretching multiple fibers, an optical coupling structure is formed to enable multi-wavelength signal transmission. As a passive device, Fused WDM requires no power supply, offering high reliability and low loss. It also features a simple structure, low cost, and compact size, making it ideal for large-scale deployment. Fused WDM is widely used in metropolitan area networks (MAN), long-distance transmission, and fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) applications to enhance the capacity and bandwidth utilization of optical communication systems.
